Yah. So’hokay.

I got 2nd to some girl from Shaker. But really, the big deal was with the girls from Maplewood. SRSLY.

“Hey guys, we can get some points if you help us. Will you dance for us?”
“Hey are you Russian? Come translate this song for us.”
“What’s a sophomore?” XD

Helpful hint? “Birth” and ”control”. SRSLY>

I was freaking out today because Winamp wasn’t making any sound. I did some real scientific tests, too. (playing different formats, playing with options, etc.) I went on Google to see if other people were having the same problem! But then I saw…

Winamp Controls

I had the volume turned all the way down. :/
What a n00b I am.

Oy! Olympiadia is next Wednesday and I’m stressin’!

И Димон, ты там будешь? :D

Have you ever read Microsoft’s EULA?
“12. NOTE ON JAVA SUPPORT. THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT CONTAINS SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS WRITTEN IN JAVA. JAVA TECHNOLOGY IS NOT FAULT TOLERANT AND IS NOT DESIGNED, MANUFACTURED, OR INTENDED FOR USE OR RESALE AS ONLINE CONTROL EQUIPMENT IN HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENTS REQUIRING FAIL-SAFE PERFORMANCE, SUCH AS IN THE OPERATION OF NUCLEAR FACILITIES, AIRCRAFT NAVIGATION OR COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS, AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL, DIRECT LIFE SUPPORT MACHINES, OR WEAPONS SYSTEMS, IN WHICH THE FAILURE OF JAVA TECHNOLOGY COULD LEAD DIRECTLY TO DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, OR SEVERE PHYSICAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE.”

I wonder what they’re foreseeing. LOL.

Have you ever used FamiTracker? I feel like a celebrity what with the reception my first ‘chiptune’ recieved.

(psst…don’t tell anyone, but I used _one_ minor pentatonic scale to make it) :P

Now XP runs like a pile. My plan now is to resize to give XP more room.

I swear to God, if anybody in the world needs a new computer — it’s me.

FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK. Zune only runs on XP.

Well, it would defeat my whole purpose if I went back, so I’ll ditch Ubuntu and dual XP.

This sucks.

Oh, and how great it is! Worked out some kinks (what with outdated drivers and such), but everything is running smoothly now. Much less bloaty. I’m ready to unfold my workspace once again.

“Hit me baby one more time…”

I’ve decided to reformat my computer and install Windows 2000. *gasp*

This is format #20+, and my baby’s running out of juice. I figure a dual-boot W2k/Ubuntu will provide just as much capability at the same level of performance as my current XP Pro. This is my only computer, so I expect to be out of commission for a while.

Let’s hope that all my exec’s still work! Firefox does, right?

BTW — I redid my site again. I figured out (after many, many long hours) that a huge factor in web page lovability is font size. I tried lots of stuff (probably two days consolidated), but produced nothing I wanted to keep. But when I shrunk my Georgian lettery, I instantly began Photoshoping my header. There’s no content yet, but you should drop by — even if only to witness the *awesome*. ;)

So, Julius — my friend: you are wrong. So, so wrong.

The reason that storage media appears to be much smaller than advertised is not because of buffer or some hardware reason. It’s because the units advertised on the box and the units displayed by the software are not the same units! The difference is, the media manufacturers use decimal representation (kilobyte = 1,000 bytes) and the software uses binary representation (kilobyte = 1,024 bytes).

(As you probably guessed, a 2.3% margin of error multiplied by 10242 is pretty off.)

A perfect example of how one question can set me off on about 2-3 hours of research.  :P
